Happy Birthday, Levi!

Buddy, I can't believe it's been six years since you came into the world. I can't believe it's been six years since you changed it all.

We didn't get to know you as well as we did your sister while you were in the hospital. You came at exactly six o'clock (as if you were looking at the microwave clock and waiting to get in the car). After a little while, everyone went away and we were alone with you. You slept soundly through your first night. The Pulleys and Fernandezes came to visit, and I wound up watching their kids while they met you in the NICU> 

We took you home on a Saturday and had frozen pizza while you laid in your little chair. Grandpa and Nana came to meet you the next day.

I look at you now and I am so proud to be your dad. You do drive me nuts once in a while, but you're so good with your little sister. You've shown her how to button her shirt, you've encouraged her while potty-training. You get so excited about things, and I'm glad I get to spend the extra time in the mornings waiting for the school bus chatting with you about the little things. 

You are into chess at this point in your life, something I didn't see coming. You love paper airplanes and running at full speed in the house. Soon you can do it outside, which I'm really happy about. You just had a birthday party at Big Putts mini-golf.

Celebrants- Nickel Creek

 Thoughts:

An ok album overall. Some songs I had no interest at all and some I really liked. Should be several tunes on playlists in the coming weeks, but Celebrants is a little too meandering for repeated future listens.

Life 4.3.23

The good:

Houston trip- really fun except for the travel day (and I mean DAY) getting there. Lots of pool time, great dinners each night, and lodgings. Wasn't sure the kids would handle the couches well, but they did. 

Birthday party- this was a pretty painless party. Arcade games to start since golf was so crowded, then 13 holes out of the 18 before pizza arrived, then pizza and cake. Then off to the house for more time with Linda, D + MK, and Fernandezes. I'll get my pet peeve in here. Maybe Greg had something going on, but a jerkier version of myself would say no cake for that guy. You can't not show up and then get yummy cake for it. Plus F. kids- tear through your house and don't clean up anything. Oh well. 

The bad:

Just the blatant disrespect by S. I'm just sick of being called out for everything. My bobbleheads are dumb? What about the $$ you shell out for clothes all the time? It affects the house? Bobbleheads? Ugh. You have two kids and you're micromanaging me. Get lost.

White Sox v Astros- Sox 6, Astros 3

 Listened to this today. It's cool that you can listen to past games now on MLB app. With this, I'm not sure I'm going to buy MLB.TV at all.
