2024 Album #8? Bewitched- Laufey (2023)

 

Reaction: A nice, chill album. Not entirely bewitched by it, but didn't hate it, either. Smooth voice goes over easy even when the songs aren't compelling.

2024 Album #4- Tony Levin, Pete Levin et al

 

Another in the "instrumental/jazz/non-vocal" before-work category. A very varied set of songs and a good set. There's not one turkey. I'm considering adding this one.

2024 Album #3- Waiting In the Wings (Daryl Stuermer- 2001)

I've been listening to "easy listening" stuff while doing early morning work. My first album of the year was Dominic Miller's Vagabond album, and now another lead guitarist for an 80s megastar gets his turn. I liked Miller's so much that I bought it and added it to the collection. Stuermer's 2001 album will not be getting that treatment. There are a couple songs I liked (the title track and "Deja Blue"), but there was a little too much of an "elevator music" feeling to the album.

2024- Album #1- Vagabond- Dominic Miller (2nd listen)

I just needed to have a chill album playing while doing some work, and I rediscovered Vagabond by Dominic Miller. Really enjoyed this one, to the point that I might want to get it to add to the collection.
