Do I Want to Hear More? (Noah Kahan)

 Artist: Noah Kahan

Album: Stick Season

It's weird- I don't dislike Kahan's album. I bet he'd be great live, but there's a sameness and a blandness to his music. He's kind of Mumford and Sons-ish, kind of the 2010's folkie, kind of Don McLean. If I wanted to hear more, there's a whole slew of bonus tracks. As of now, though, I'm not eager to hear too much more.

The National

Debut Album: The National, 2001

How would I describe it?

Pretty earnest stuff with good instrumentals. "Theory of the Crows" is kind of unbearable. Just feels kind of mopey.

Verdict: Not really enough here to make me want to listen to another record.

Luck and Strange- David Gilmour

I thought Luck and Strange was ok. It's always good to hear David Gilmour's voice and guitar. There were two standout tracks, the title and The Piper's Call. An OK listen. Liked it better than Hanseroth Twins.

Hanseroth Twins

The first album for the Hanseroth Twins without Brandi Carlile. It's a well-crafted album, but mostly downcast. Maybe a couple of upbeat tunes would mix it up. Nice cover of "A Little Respect".

2011 Brewers Update

Current Record: 9-10

2.5 games back of Cincy and St Louis

Status:

We have the first crisis of the season, as the bullpen has faltered repeatedly in the last few games. Axford in particular is off to a dreadful start and lost the closer job. Hawkins has assumed the job with 8 scoreless innings. Four relievers have ERAs over 5.00. The offense is off to a great start.

Next up:

Series at home against Astros.
