Bread- Manna

Ugh, I thought as I pulled the album out of the crate. Bread. Manna. Cheesy album title from a reportedly cheesy band. Know what, though? Like a flu shot, it turned out not to be that bad. This is the third album I've listened to from Linda's collection and it's at least better than the Moodys, which was good but meandered a bit too much for me. Is Bread earnest? Without a doubt. But it's not awful, so that's a win.

OOTP Go- The Best-1986

Winner: New York Mets

History repeats itself as the Mets defeat the crosstown Yankees instead of the Red Sox. The Reds and Yankees were the only teams to score a win against them, as they were 11-2.

The Mets now qualify for the championship bracket that will eventually take place. The purpose of doing these tournaments by year is that especially before the wild card, some teams were great and never were playoff tested.

Next: The '94 season. There was no champ for this season. Will the Expos be the class of '94 as many think?

Moody Blues- Seventh Sojourn

 Overall impressions:

Thought it was a good album. Some songs seemed a bit overblown, but not too much. Liked the first song on each side. I think I will listen to it on streaming to get a closer listen.

I'm going to listen to Linda's records and react. This set's pretty cool because it comes with a "yearbook" talking about every year.

So far:

Side A- strongest so far

Side B- the combo of "Put Your Head on My Shoulder" and "Why" is kind of terrible together.

Side C- solid, but the awful "Leader of the Pack" to start is brutal. Never been a big "Do You Believe in Magic" fan.

Side D- kind of uninteresting.
